Insects are stable, proficient in moving forward on any thinkable terrain and are capable of solving a complex navigation problem. The Insect Biobots project has the goal to build a cyber-physical network in which insects can be used as mobile, biologic-robotic (biobotic) netpoints. This network enables the insects, for example, to search through areas of disaster to look for survivors.
